William Woods University seeks a content strategist to join its Marketing team!

You’ll join an experienced marcom team in a fast-growing private university in Fulton, Missouri. We’re helping The Woods break records in enrollment and your work will have direct institutional impact. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Content planning: Manage annual content calendar, find story ideas, plan multimedia stories that can be repackaged for multiple channels and audiences.
  • Editorial management: Review and clarify story pitches, manage workflow, assign tasks to staff and student employees, ensure timely completion and communicate proactively with sources and stakeholders.
  • Writing and editing: Interview sources and create content for a variety of communication channels, including newsletters, websites, social media and print publications. Edit content written by other team members.
  • Multi-media content creation: Effectively create and publish photos and videos to effectively use in digital and print marketing content for the website, social media, admissions materials, and direct emails
  • Analytics and reporting: Analyze data and report on the impact and effectiveness of communication and marketing efforts.
  • Leadership: Provide input and recommendations to director. Act as a resource for colleagues. May supervise student employees.
  • Other related duties and job development.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and at least 2 years’ experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Journalism, content management or content marketing experience.
Graphic design experience.
Knowledge of brand management.
Expertise in higher education.

Work Schedule:

This is an exempt position requiring 40 hours per week, year-round position with evening and weekend duties as necessary.
