B&B Theatres Announces Operational Transition in Fulton, MO

January 17, 2025 – B&B Theatres, the fifth-largest cinema chain in North America, today announces an agreement with RT Entertainment to take over operations at the Fulton Cinema 8 in Fulton, MO.  The transition will take place on February 3rd, 2025, after which the theater will continue operating as an independent movie theater.

“Fulton holds a unique and cherished place in our company’s history,” said Bob Bagby, CEO of B&B Theatres. “The old Downtown Theatre in Fulton was the first theatre the Bagby and Bills families owned together, purchased from Wehrenberg Theatres in 1980.  While this decision was not made lightly, we believe transitioning the space to a new operator is the best way to ensure its continued service to the community.  The fact that it remains operational and in service to Fulton moviegoers is of critical importance to us.”

“Our strategy is to invest in large entertainment hubs that bring together the best in cinema, bowling, arcade, and restaurant food and beverage service,” Bagby added. “These new locations provide dynamic experiences that cater to guests of all ages.  We’re thrilled to have a number of such projects in various phases of development across the country.”

RT Entertainment is a company that specializes in the small-town moviegoing experience. “It is our joy in life to share the movies with everyone,” says Rob Mayer, CEO. ““We are excited to join the community of Fulton and bring our unique and specialized management style to the Fulton Cinema 8. We are glad that we could work with the leadership at B&B to make this transition smooth for both staff and guests.” B&B Theatres gift certificates and passes will continue to be honored for a period of time after the transition.

The decision to transition the Fulton Cinema 8 underscores B&B Theatres’ commitment to growth and innovation while honoring its historical roots.  As the company looks ahead, it remains dedicated to delivering unforgettable entertainment experiences in vibrant markets nationwide.
