FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fulton, Missouri– Callaway County Special Services (CCSS) is proud to announce its 35th anniversary of dedicated service to the community. Founded in 1988 by the citizens of Callaway County, CCSS has been a beacon of support, advocacy, and empowerment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families for over three decades.

One of the first services provided by CCSS was Day Services, which led to the establishment of the Adult Enrichment Center in 1990. In 2020, CCSS broke ground on a new building and, upon its completion in 2020, renamed the center to the Life Enrichment Center. CCSS continues to expand its range of programs and services to meet the evolving needs of the community while remaining true to its founding core values of promoting respect, dignity, strength, patience, caring, commitment, compassion, and collaboration for individuals of all abilities.

“At Callaway County Special Services, our mission is straightforward yet deeply impactful: We strive to facilitate the integration of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities into the community, “said Mike Lederle, Executive Director of CCSS. "As we celebrate 35 years of service, we are reminded of the transformative impact we have had on the lives of so many. Our dedication to this mission is unwavering, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue making a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families."

"We are thrilled to mark this milestone anniversary and reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us to where we are today," said Jacob Baumgartner, Chair of the Board of Directors at CCSS. "Our organization is founded on the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. As we look ahead to the next chapter, we remain steadfast in our commitment to empowering individuals, fostering inclusion, and building a more compassionate community for all."

In commemoration of its anniversary, CCSS will host a dedication of LEC and a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 6, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at the Life Enrichment Center at 2640 Fairway Drive, Fulton, MO. Please join our Board of Directors, staff, and clients as we reveal our new logo.

“As CCSS looks ahead to the next chapter of our journey, the organization remains committed to its core values of integrity, compassion, and excellence. With the community's continued support, CCSS is poised to build upon its legacy of service and make an even greater impact in the years to come,” said Mike Lederle.
