Callaway Chamber of Commerce and State Tech to Launch Mo-AMP after Pandemic
Mo-AMP, which launched in February, is scheduled to begin its free classes in August.

FULTON, MO – The Callaway Chamber of Commerce partnered with State Technical College of Missouri in early spring and launched the Mo-AMP program.  With the COVID-19 pandemic, planning for classes was put on hold, but the Chamber and State Tech are now planning for classes to begin in the fall of 2020 with appointments for applicants open on July 13th – 15th.
“We are excited to finally begin signups in July and classes in August. We hoped to be further along with our workforce development training for Callaway County, but the pandemic delayed our plans by a few months. I appreciate State Tech’s commitment to Callaway County and developing our workforce” Chamber Executive Director, Tamara Tateosian, said.
Classes are free and open to all underemployed and unemployed individuals from age 18 and older, and will help facilitate workforce development throughout the county.  Classes being held this fall will include Foundational Skills, Precision Measurement, Motor Controls, HVAC, CPR/First Aid, Industrial Wiring and much more.  Completion of course objectives within a category earns participants applicable certifications and industry work experience to help them succeed in the workplace.
The program is not created to hinder participation by any individual including Veterans and those who have been previously incarcerated.  Participants must pass the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) test with a silver score or higher for entry.  Testing is free to applicants.
