William Woods University President resigns

Romaine Seguin, Chair of the university’s board of trustees, to serve as Acting President
Fulton, MO – Dr. Jeremy Moreland, President of William Woods University(WWU), today announced his resignation from the university to pursue other professional opportunities. Moreland, who became the 13th president in WWU history in September 2021, will officially leave the university in January 2025.

Ms. Romaine Seguin, current Chair of the William Woods Board of Trustees, has been appointed Acting President. The University will conduct a national search to identify President Moreland’s successor.
“Under Dr. Moreland’s leadership, William Woods has broken institutional records for enrollment, created new degree programs and expanded the student experience,” said Seguin. “We appreciate his many contributions in helping to move our University forward.”

Seguin has been Chair of Board since 2019 and a member since 2011. As a 1982 graduate of William Woods with a degree in marketing management, she is deeply committed to the University’s continued success. With extensive management experience, Seguin previously served as President of UPS Global Freight Forwarding, as well as the CEO of Good360, the global leader in product philanthropy and purposeful giving. She has generously donated her time to serve in the role as Acting President and will not be compensated for her work.

Over the coming weeks and months, members of the Board, including Seguin, will be on campus to meet with leadership, faculty, and students. It is the Board’s intention and expectation that student experience will not be impacted by this change. The Board looks forward to working collaboratively with the campus community for the overall success of the University and its students.
