Missouri Women in Business Advocacy Day Invites Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs to Missouri State Capitol
March 04, 2025 – Female business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, and leaders across all industries are invited to join the third-annual Missouri Women in Business Advocacy Day at the Missouri State Capitol on Tuesday, March 25.
This day is coordinated by the Missouri Women’s Business Center, a program of Central Missouri Community Action, as an important part of advocacy work. Participants will gather at the Capitol to engage with elected officials to raise awareness of impactful business initiatives. It is a great opportunity to network with lawmakers and other business leaders from across the state. Governor Mike Kehoe and Kara Corches, CEO of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry will speak to participants.
“We’re excited to continue growing this initiative this year,” says Jayme Prenger, Missouri Women’s Business Center Director. “Women in business are a crucial part of Missouri’s economy. We plan to highlight that strength, including the 133,000 women-owned businesses and the innumerable women in business across all industries in our state.”
Missouri Women in Business Advocacy Day is also a great professional development opportunity. We anticipate participants from across the state, representing all four women’s business centers and other organizations for women in business.
“At Advocacy Day, I had the privilege of speaking with women representatives who are trailblazers in their fields and advocates for small business growth,” says Krystal Martin, owner of K&K Co., who participated last year. “Hearing from the governor about his vision for supporting entrepreneurship and economic development was both inspiring and affirming. I left the event motivated and more determined than ever to contribute to a future where women-owned businesses thrive.”
The MoWBC’s Women in Business Advocacy Day is open to all entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. If interested in more information or would like to register for this event, find the Facebook event on the Missouri Women’s Business Center page or email info@mowbc.org.
