Dr. Sarah Greenland-White, Associate Professor of Biology, awarded Distinguished Professor of Year at William Woods
Fulton, MO – Recognized as a professor who demonstrates unmatchable passion for her subject matter, Dr. Sarah Greenland-White has been chosen by students at William Woods University (WWU) as this year’s distinguished professor at WWU.
An Associate Professor of Biology at WWU, Dr. Greenland-White received the 2025 Louis D. Beaumont Dad’s Association Distinguished Professor of the Year Award as part of the University’s year-end academic honors. The award carries an honorarium and is presented annually to a faculty member who has displayed an outstanding dedication to teaching. Recipients of the award are nominated and chosen by students.
Dr. Greenland-White was praised by the students who nominated her as someone who not only has a deep passion for her subject matter, but also as a professor who exhibits amazing teaching techniques. She is known as a faculty member whose explanations of complex concepts always make understanding such ideas easier, and someone who is always willing to help each and every student.
A member of the William Woods faculty since 2017, Dr. Greenland-White’s major areas of interest include General Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Comparative Verterbrate Anatomy and Physiology, Pathophysiology, Neuroscience, Cell and Molecular Bioligy, and a study of what constitutes life.
Dr. Greenland-White received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Brigham Young University in 2012, and her Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis, also in Neuroscience, in 2017.
