Callaway County, Missouri is pleased to announce the approval of an agreement with
Central Missouri Community Action (“CMCA”) in order to provide utility assistance to utility
customers located in Callaway County from CARES Act Funds.
The County has agreed to provide up to $500,000, to be administered by CMCA, to
provide utility assistance for customers facing economic hardship due to COVID-19 that receive
utility services from local utility providers. One half of the agreed amount will be made
available through CMCA to provide direct assistance for customers’ utility bills for the period
March 1, 2020 through June 30, 2020. The remaining amount will be made available based on
continued need no later than July 31, 2020.
Program eligibility will be based on the following criteria:
• Household adversely affected by COVID-19;
• Household income at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Level
• Utility customer of Callaway Electric Co-op, City of Fulton, City of Holts
Summit, Callaway County Public Water District #1, or Callaway County
Public Water District #2;
• Utility arrears dating back no further than March 1, 2020, to no later than
June 30, 2020;
• Utility bill must be in the name of an adult (18 years of age or older)
household member
Applications will be available through the Callaway County Family Resource Center at
610 Collier Lane, Fulton, Missouri. Applicants will be required to complete a LIHEAP
application, provide social security numbers and proof of household members, provide proof of
household income for the past 30 days, provide utility bill or notice, and affirm that the
household has been adversely affected by COVID-19.
