FULTON, MO — The Local Lemon program, a unique youth entrepreneurial initiative, has concluded with resounding success. The coursework took place from July 21st to July 24th and provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of owning and operating their own business. Over the course of the program, they were taught essential skills in customer service, finance, and food handling. After completing their coursework, participants launched their lemonade stands on Saturday, July 26, showcasing their business skills and creativity.

The event featured 8 young entrepreneurs operating 5 vibrant lemonade stands across the community. Collectively, they sold 185 cups of lemonade and earned over $2,100.

In addition to their sales achievements, the participants were recognized with special awards:
Mergy Lemonade: Best Sales Pitch
LA Lemonade: Highest Gross Sales
Lemon Drop Shop: Most Cups Sold
Loopy Lemon: Best Customer Service
Ocean Bay Lemonade: Most Creative Stand

“The awards recognize the individual talents and innovative spirit each child showcased through their lemonade stand,” said Tamara Tateosian, CEO of the Callaway Chamber of Commerce. “These young business owners gained hands-on experience in entrepreneurship and customer interaction that will serve them well into the future.”

The Callaway Chamber of Commerce extends its gratitude to the community members for their support of the youth entrepreneurs and to Central Bank, the Presenting Sponsor of this program, for their invaluable support.
